Lancashire Constabulary and UCLan’s School of Forensic and Applied Sciences

Kinetic Laboratories Ltd was proud to be selected to design, manufacture, and install all laboratory furniture for the newly established Lancashire Forensic Science Academy, a collaborative initiative between Lancashire Constabulary and UCLan’s School of Forensic and Applied Sciences.

This state-of-the-art facility represents the first collaboration of its kind in the UK, bringing together CSIs, forensic science experts, academics, and students to work side by side in a shared, purpose-built environment. The Academy provides a modern and professional space where forensic research, investigation, and education are seamlessly integrated, supporting the delivery of high-quality forensic science services across Lancashire.

Kinetic Laboratories supplied a full range of bespoke laboratory furniture, carefully designed to meet the specific operational and educational needs of the Academy. This included:

• Specialist storage units for forensic equipment, chemicals, and sensitive samples.
• Durable and hygienic work surfaces, manufactured from high-quality materials such as Trespa® TopLab Plus, ensuring longevity and easy maintenance.

The installation reflects Kinetic Laboratories’ ability to combine functionality, safety, and aesthetics in challenging environments. Each workstation and unit was engineered to withstand the rigours of practical forensic work, whilst providing a professional, modern environment conducive to learning and research.
