St Joseph Theatre, Scarborough

Following a funding grant from the Arts Council England, St Joseph Theatre in Scarborough embarked on a £561,000 ‘Transform’ project to modernise its building while preserving its unique historical features. Kinetic Laboratories Ltd were proud to be selected to design, manufacture, and modify bespoke furniture for the theatre’s foyer, box office, and bar area, helping to bring the vision of a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing space to life.

The project involved:

• Custom-designed furniture for the foyer, enhancing visitor flow and comfort while complementing the theatre’s period architecture.
• Bespoke box office fittings, providing practical solutions for ticketing and administration.
• Bar and refreshment area furniture, combining durability with modern design to accommodate theatre patrons.

The theatre’s chief executive, Stephen Freeman, commented:
